our story

The Fox84 Initiative for Boys was formed by four Marion High School graduates who saw a need to give back to the community that raised them by offering mentoring programs to at-risk youths. It is our goal to give young men in Marion, South Carolina, an opportunity for a brighter future. The Fox84 Initiative for Boys is a start-up mentoring program for at-risk middle and high school youth. Our goal is to establish a program that focuses on Marion County. The Program is not intended to be an isolated entity. It will form strategic partnerships with local schools, businesses, and the juvenile court system to have maximum impact.

Promoting healthy friendships, building strong interpersonal skills and inspiring hope for the future; the Fox84 Initiative for Boys mentorship program aims to make a difference in the lives of at-risk high school youth in Marion County. Founded in July 2016, our aim has been to cultivate strong, positive relationships to encourage commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood characterized by pride and accomplishment.

Mission Statement

We are an independent 501(c) (3 ) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives by empowering teens, equipping adults and strengthening communities. Creating mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth facing challenges in their personal, social and academic lives. We strive to be the change-agent in fostering excellence in the areas of education, health, and social well-being in urban and diverse communities; ensuring that the needs of the whole child are met.

Our Goal

It is our hope that, over time, we will create a learning environment that is an invaluable resource to young people, aspiring mentees, and the community as a whole. A bright future for our youth is very important, which is why we are bringing awareness to the importance of mentoring. It is our plan to address risk factors through our programs while giving special attention to young men who often have the odds stacked against them.

Our Vision

Our vision is that boys and young men should be taught the true meaning of responsibility at an early age so that when they grow; they will act with respect, honor, and integrity, and the community as a whole will prosper.

Quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in terms of personal, academic, and professional success. Ultimately, mentoring connects a young person to personal growth and development, and social and economic opportunity."
